What factory data does not tell you

Factory records describe how the car was built. They do not show mileage, accident history, ownership, liens or current condition. Combine them with an inspection and a history check before you pay.

What VINdata.io is — and is not

VINdata.io provides factory configuration data from the VIN. It is not a vehicle history report, a valuation, a customs or tax calculation, or a guarantee of current condition. Always inspect the car and check local registration rules.

Plans for your dealership

Start free on the website. Traders with regular volume choose a monthly plan or a custom agreement for large lists; API and MCP access is approved on request. Repeat lookups of the same VIN and failed lookups are free.

Frequently asked questions

Can I check a list of many VINs at once?

Yes, through the API or an AI assistant via MCP. For large or recurring lists we also offer tailored agreements — contact support@vindata.io.

Does it show mileage or accident history?

No. VINdata.io shows how the car was specified at the factory, not what has happened since. Use it alongside an inspection and a history check.

Can it calculate import tax or registration fees?

No. It gives you factory data such as fuel type, power and emission standard where recorded, which you can use in your own tax and registration calculations.

Which brands and countries are covered?

More than 30 brands sold in Europe. The VIN works regardless of where the car is now. Plate lookups are available for France, Spain, Italy and Portugal.

Can my foreign buyers read the equipment list?

The website is available in 12 languages, and the API can return equipment descriptions in several languages using the lang parameter.
